John Holding – Director
A consultant with 15 years experience gained in a wide
variety of industries and different business situations, John has
strong analytical skills and is a good strategic thinker. He
enjoys working closely with clients in the management of change
from analysis and strategic planning through to implementation and
achievement of results.
John has successfully combined a strong financial background
with a more general business/commercial approach to problem
solving and an appreciation of what can or cannot be achieved in a
practical sense during implementation.
John qualified as an accountant (FCCA) in 1982, gained a BA
degree in democratic government & politics in 1989 and was awarded
an MBA from Cranfield University in 1995. He works closely with
Cranfield School of Management as a business coach and facilitator
on the Business Growth Programme and is the director of Holdings
Limited.
Outside of work, John enjoys sailing both in the UK and
abroad.
James McGarry
James McGarry, Independent
Financial Adviser and Partner at Positive Solutions, the UK’s
largest national independent financial adviser, is perfectly
placed to take responsibility for offering personally tailored
financial solutions for clients who expect more. Outside of work,
James enjoys spending time with family, travelling, reading,
sports and playing drums.
David Scriven – Clergy Tax Manager
David joined Holdings as Clergy Taxation Manager in 2004
after having worked for the Ecclesiastical Insurance Company as a
financial services consultant for seven years. During that time he
introduced Holdings to the Ecclesiastical as their preferred
taxation adviser for clergy. David has always worked in the
financial services sector with other jobs in insurance and
broking. His involvement with church and clergy personal finance
began in 1977.
David enjoys wind surfing and is an instructor in this sport.
He has instructed in many locations including Brazil where he took
a four year career break spending part of this working with street
children in Sao Paulo.
Michael Wright –
Accounts Senior
Michael joined
Holdings as Accounts Senior in 2009. He brought nearly 10 years
practice experience with him, and plays a key role in the
management of our accounts and tax services.
Outside of
work Michael’s time is spent with his young family. As he has
less time now to play football, he spends most of his time
criticising his beloved Tottenham Hotspur instead.
